FAQ
DO YOU ACCEPT COMMISSIONS?
Yes I do, commissions are currently open!
HOW MUCH DOES A PORTRAIT COST?
The cost depends on the size and complexity of the portrait. Each portrait is calculated individually.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
1. We decide on the size and cost of your painting. A deposit of 50% is required.
2. You will send me as many images of your subject as possible. I can also work from a live sitting, or a combination of live sitting and photography.
3. When the portrait is finished you will be sent a photo. Oil portraits generally take about a week-two weeks to dry to the touch. Varnish can also take an extra week.
4. Your balance is paid and you collect your portrait or it will be mailed to you!
HOW DO I PAY?
This website accepts credit cards payments. You may also pay via wire transfer or bank deposit.
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. Your painting will be professionally packaged in a carton or hard tube to protect it during shipment. I ship via TTPost registered mail unless you choose another carrier.
DO YOU OFFER FRAMING?
Yes. If you would like your portrait framed I would be happy to arrange this for an additional cost.
DO YOU DO DIGITAL PORTRAITS TOO?
I have and do. A digital portrait can be created that can be printed on canvas and hung like a painting.
CAN YOU MAKE THE PAINTING DIFFERENT FROM THE PHOTOGRAPH?
Yes, to an extent. The colors or background can be changed, and I can sometimes add other people to the painting if you send me the relevant photographs of the people you wish to add. I cannot change the features in the photograph (like add a smile or make a person thinner).
HOW DO I CHOOSE A PHOTOGRAPH?
• Photos should be in focus and the subject must be clear.

• Photos should be in colour if you want a portrait in colour.

• Photos must be a high enough resolution for me to be able to clearly see the subject's face and features.

• The subject should be well lit. If you are taking a photograph it is helpful to have light shining on one side of the face an the other side in shadow.

• Send me as many photos as possible! The more I have to choose from the better the composition will be.
